Cambridgeshire Photo Show
The Cambridgeshire Koi Clubs annual photo show saw a total of 84 entries this year from 11 exhibitors, with 12 of the 13 BKKS benching varieties being represented. The single variety without an entrant was, as last year, Hikari Utsuri.

As last year, we have Christine Woolger to thank for the judging of the koi, Christine took time out to personally visit each and every members pond to see the fish first hand.
The winners prizes for this years competition were once again kindly donated by Tetra, this support ensured that all the winning entrants walked away with Tetra's Koi Excellance Wheatgerm food as well as their certificate and award.
It was nice to see that every single entrant in the photo show had at least one of their koi in the award places showing that the quality of the koi entered was of a very high standard (even if some of the members thought their own fish weren't!).
Another point that really made all the members smile was that one of our clubs newer members, Martyn and Sue, took first place awards with all of the 3 fish they entered, congratulations to them on a 100% achievement and proof in itself that no matter what you may or may not think to your own fish, the judge may see them differently!
This year, in memory of Sat Sahota, saw the introduction of a new award and class in our photo show. The Sat Sahota Memorial Award is to be awarded each year to a 'novice champion'. The award is open to club members that have not previously won a major award in the annual show, and encourages entrants that may feel they cannot compete for the other awards.
Our photo show doesn't fall directly in line with BKKS sizes as to do so would leave many size categories with no entrants, to ensure their is good competition in all sizes we have 4 categories which are:
Size 1 - Under 16”
Size 2 - 16” – 20”
Size 3 - 20” – 24”
