Crouch Valley Close Show
June 13th & 14th saw the Crouch Valley Koi Club hold their annual Closed Koi Show at the Barleyland’s South Essex Garden Show, the weather in the build up for this had been kind so a good weekend was hopefully in store for all visitors.
Members had given up their time from Thursday 11th to put the show into action, so I would like to say a quick thank you now, to all that gave some of their time during the course of this show, it is much appreciated.
Saturday morning see the start of the Crouch Valley Koi Club Show however the Garden Show had opened the previous day, there was eleven vats on display with a good variety of Koi to be seen. It was great to see so many people looking in the vats, families of many generations having the day out together paying an interest in what was being shown, it was also great to see the members and the BKKS HLO that were on site talking about the hobby to members of the public and giving them general advice and basically giving a better insight to our amazing hobby.
The Grand Champion of the day finally went to Ray Nicholls with a superb BKKS size 6 Showa, for the record here, as this is a Closed Show the Crouch Valley choose to categorize the Koi in only 3 sizes which is why the photo has Size 3 noted.
Thanks must go to Select Nishikigoi International for sponsoring this event, Deron had kindly supplied the awards ranging from trophies to large bags of Koi food, so on that note thank you from the Crouch Valley Koi Club.
For all Koi winning photo’s please see the clubs website at http://www.crouchvalleykoi.co.uk/ and for further details about the Crouch Valley Koi Club activities.
The next show on the calendar is the National Show at Newark on 27th/28th June, you can find all the details of this show by following the links to 'The National Show' at the top of the page.
Look forward to seeing you all at the National! Happy Koi Keeping!
