Essex Koi Show 2009

Baby ChampThe Essex Koi Show 2009 saw the last ever show at purfleet sports and social club which ended a long era at such a popular venue, however this is not the last one for the Section.

July 18th & 19th saw the Essex Koi Club try to match the standards set by the National the previous month before, and from the feedback it seems that it ticked all the right boxes.

The week leading up to the show is always a busy time at the showground, and this time was no different. Some new changes had been made to the showground including entertainment and also catering something that the Essex had always tried to do well.

Koi started to arrive on the Friday for benching and straight way you could see that the quality was up on previous years which is always great to see. In the end there were a total of 225 koi benched, a copy of the benching matrix can be seen below.

The gates where opened on the Saturday for the public and the sunny weather had also appeared to have been booked by the Club, the vats were all ready the Koi were all ready along with the dealers and the Club members.
