Mid Staffs Koi Keeping Society 25th Show Anniversary
2011 marks a mile stone for the Mid Staffs koi Keeping Society as we celebrate our 25th annual koi show and as one of the longest established koi shows, we are planning to make this a very special occasion for the club members and the visiting public.
We have for many years run our show from the Hollybush Garden Centre, Warstone Rd, Wolverhampton, WV10 7LX which is located just off Junction 11 M6 and again this year, this is where we will host our annual closed show. We are very proud of our relationship that we share with the Hollybush who help us to promote our show throughout the year and welcome our visitors and exhibitors on show day.
To commemorate this special day we hoping to install a placard in the main entrance of the Hollybush to celebrate our many years of collaboration, hopefully it will promote the club and the hobby in future years to come.
The Hollybush Garden Centre has one of the best tropical, marine and cold water aquatic facilities in the country including a first class reptile section, in addition they have a fantastic restaurant and miniature railway for the children.
There will be a wide variety of activities during the day including raffles and tombola, there are also trade stands for dry goods and equipment, craft stands and an all day barbeque.
We should have around 20 vats on display including some of Bill Oakley’s National winners from past years which will be included in the judging and be contenders for this years Grand Champion. Members of the Mid Staffs Koi Society never fail to turn up with some outstanding fish and we can’t imagine this year will be any different.
So put 7th of August in your diary and come along and have a great day with us, you may even meet up with some old friends.
