New Committee For Essex

The Essex Section held it's 31st AGM on Sun 9th Jan, our chairman, John Botha opened the meeting and thanked everyone for attending.

Luckily the agenda was very light which made the start of the afternoon go quickly. Iris Thomas read out a statement regarding our Librarian Bill Thomas who was taken seriously ill just before Christmas. He is slowy getting better and we would like to extend our prayers to his family for his speedy recovery.

Bill had been on the Committee on and off for many years and one of the clubs big pin collectors, a lot of people will know him by the waistcoat full of badges he wears over the show ground.

The rest of the Committee read out their officers reports and then on to club business.

One of the main items was the new venue (detailed below) for the club meetings which we start using from the next meeting on 13th Febuary.

At this moment we are working on a show this year which will be the 23rd & 24th July, full details will be given in the near future so put these dates in your diary.

John and the members thanked the Committee for their hard work over the past year and then handed the meeting over to George Badenoch for the election of the new Committee.

The meetings are on the 2nd Sunday of every month at 3pm at South Ockendon Community Forum, Derwent Parade, South Ockendon, RM16 5UG.
