You mentioned summer Gareth and now you have me thinking, I am looking to take the missus away later in the year to Athens as we like walking around places that have been built many moons ago, we loved Rome last year and as I said we are looking to go to Athens this year to see the Acropolis, does any of you travellers amongst you recommend anywhere specific or a nice place to stay ?
Love to hear your thoughts all ?

Sorry cant help you there but having been to Rome and being a person who has seen much of the world, I really must agree with you in that the old is much better than the new, the nearest I got to Greece was Cyprus which is a must as it has it's own share of old and has a rich history.
