Organisation of the BKKS

The largest part of the Society is formed by its ordinary members spread throughout the UK, often but not exclusively in sections.The affairs of the Society are managed by a smaller group known as the Council which consists of officers and other council members elected at an AGM for a period of two years.

The Council.

The officers comprise of a Chairman, General Secretary and Treasurer who have overall responsibility and direction of the Society's general and financial affairs. The remaining Council members include more detailed roles such as the Vice Chairman, Membership Secretary, Magazine Collator, Webmaster, Public Relations, and Supplies etc.

Sub-Committees

In addition there are a number of Sub-Committees which manage the more specialised aspects of the Society's affairs. Each sub-committee has its own appointed Chairman, Secretary and Representative that attends Council meetings in the role of liaison between Sub-Committee and Council. The current sub-committees are:

  • The National Show Committee
  • The Judges and Standards Committee (JSC)
  • The Health Standards Committee (HSC)

No member or any other person shall seem to represent or act on behalf of THE SOCIETY unless duly authorised by the Council or a General Meeting of THE SOCIETY.
