Help! I've inherited a Koi Pond!

Alternative title : Not all Koi are valuable

One of the most common questions asked on this site is that posed in the title. People seem to have an assumption that all koi are valuable - and while the value of the life of a fish as a pet can never and should never be discounted or trivialised, some Koi do have a high financial value; but the vast majority do not.

Tancho Sanke/Showa ?.

Hi Everyone

Val ad I have recently recieved what we know is a very nice Tancho Sanke. The Hi is central to the head, is a good size and dosen't go over the eye's.

The Sumi is equal either side of the body but on closer inspection we have noticed that there is still some Sumi to come through, our thought's are that the Sanke could possibly beome a Tancho Showa, our question is this, just what exactly makes a good Tancho showa and what should we hope for if it is?

Me and my pond

Good morning all,

On Sunday 13th April is another Essex Section meeting, this months meeting will be "Me and my pond". The aim of this meeting is simply for members to chat about their ponds, this may include how long its been built, how it was done what pitfalls you may have come up against and are there things you would have done different if you was to do it again.

It also gives them the chance to discuss there filtration and Koi and generally have an question and answer session.
